City of Peterborough men can concentrate on cup action this weekend as their scheduled big game against East Premier A Division rivals Bedford has been postponed.

Bedford have indoor commitments so the match will now take place on December 16. City can keep their eye in by beating Cambridge University away from home for the second time this season on Sunday (December 3).

It’s a second round tie in the Tier One event of the English Hockey Championships and City expect a tougher game than the league clash on the opening day of the season which they won 5-2.

City of Peterborough Ladies are away to Canterbury seconds in the East Premier Division tomorrow. City could move into second place with a win.

Bourne Deeping men moved away from the relegation zone in the Premier B Division last weekend with a 2-1 win over West Herts seconds secured by goals from Stuart Biggs and Bob Slack.

Wisbech are now next-to-bottom after a 6-2 beating at Cambridge City seconds.

Wisbech seconds lost for the first time in Division Four North West, while City of Peterborough Ladies fourths were beaten for the first time in Division Four North West, 6-2 at Spilsby.

City Ladies seconds won for only the second time in Division Three North West.

They crushed Bury St Edmunds 8-0 with Claire Bowtell and Emelia Shead both scoring twice.

City of Peterborough beat Bourne Deeping 4-0 in the first round of the National Mixed Cup last Sunday.

Nathan Foad, Ross Ambler, Tierney Augustine, Jordan Heald were on target.
