A hat-trick from teenager Tierney Augustine and and a superb individual goal from Robyn Gribble secured a 4-1 win for City of Peterborough Ladies in their East Division One North clash with Royston at Bretton Gate yesterday (January 23).
City dominated the contest as they sought to end a run of three straight defeats, particularly in the first-half when Thomas Deacon Academy schoolgirl Tierney Augustine scored twice.
Anna Faux, who was named player-of-the-match for her strong running and -supportive positional play was instrumental in the first goal of the second half, one that completed Augustine’s hat-trick.
Royston soon replied from a short corner before a fine run and shot by Gribble completed the scoring.
City are sixth in the table and travel to fifth-placed Lincoln next Saturday (January 30).
