City of Peterborough had plenty to celebrate at the weekend as the men’s first team turned in their best display of the season, the veterans made progress in a national competition and the ladies first team won 6-0.

The men’s first team saw off Cambridge City seconds 5-0 with goals by man-of-the-match Cameron Heald (2), Shane Vincent, Ben Read and Joe Finding and that was their best result of the season in the East League Premier A Division.

They have now put together a six-match unbeaten run and that’s due largely to an improvement in their defensive play. They became the first side on Saturday to prevent Cambridge City from scoring.
