HOCKEY: City of Peterborough reach under 18 national semi-finals

City of Peterborough Under 18s have emulated their first team by reaching the semi-final of a hotly-contested national cup.

The talented teenagers secured their place in the semi-finals of the English Hockey Under 18 Cup with a superb 2-1 away win at National League club Cannock yesterday (February 28).

Oscar Sadikot and Arthur Franklin scored the goals for a City side not unused to success at youth team leve. They reached the final of this competition two years ago when they were beaten by a powerfuol Team Bath side.

City will travel to Yorkshire to play Ben Rhydding in the semi-finals on April 3. Surbiton and Wycombe contest the other semi-final.

City of Peterborough men host National Premier Division side Beeston in the English Hockey Cup semi-finals at Bretton Gate on March 20.

Bourne Deeping made it through to the semi-finals of the English Hockey Trophy after an excellent 3-2 win at higher-level Norwich City yesterday. They will play either Guernsey or London Edwardians
