'˜Harbour Master' ready for Isle of Man defence

Harbour won the men’s A team match award after finishing with an average of 27.08 in his 4-0 win against Darren O’Neill.

Martin Adams actually finished with the top average of 27.85 but he suffered a rare defeat when losing 4-3 to Micky Peel.

Cambs won the match 22-17 overall after a superb performance by their ladies B team, who won 6-0.

The ladies A team also won (4-2) but there was a 9-3 defeat for the men’s B team while the men’s A team clash finished all square at 6-6.

Other match award winners for Cambs were Claire Brookin (ladies B), Craig Venman (men’s B) and Diane Nash (ladies A).

Cambs have now won five on the trot.

POST OFFICE SINGLES

There are two open singles tournaments on at the Post Office Club in Bourges Boulevard this weekend.

Tomorrow (March 11) there’s the usual Friday night event with a guaranteed £50 pay-out and then on Sunday (March 13) there’s a £400 event sponsored by Cambridgeshire Driveways.

It’s £3 to enter tomorrow with registration at 7.45pm and on Sunday the cost is £5 with registration at 11am for an 11.30am start.

The last Friday night winner was Dennis Harbour.
