Fans’ favourite and popular within the playing squad. Is he tainted by association with two failed regimes though?

Certain to be part of the next management team in some capacity.

*3/1 Karl Robinson

The word is he will be leaving after steering MK Dons back into League One.

Mutual respect between MacAnthony and Robinson, but would the Posh fans accept him.

Took Bristol City to League One title last season playing some great attacking football.

Harshly sacked earlier this season and might get to stay in the Championship.

6/1 Steve Evans

He will come for the Posh job one day, but he’s busy getting linked with a longer stay at Leeds and a possible move to Celtic.

He might thing Posh is beneath him right now.

8/1 Sean O’Driscoll

His best days are surely behind him?

Good coach at Doncaster, but didn’t last long at Walsall this season.

10/1 Dave Robertson

A misprint surely.

I reckon Mark Warburton was the brains behind his good run as Brentford manager.

PT rating: *

10/1 Neil Lennon

He’d probably be decent at League One level, but doubt he’d want to come into League One, especially as Celtic job is available again.

A most unlikeley candidate

PT rating: *

12/1 Chris Powell

An interesting candidate. Solid jobs at Charlton (with whom he won promotion from League One) and Huddersfield.

Highy-respected in the game.

PT rating: ***

14/1 Darren Ferguson.

Silly idea even if he is the only successful manager of the MacAnthony era.

Both parties have ruled out a third coming in the past.

14/1 Dougie Freedman

His record at Championship level suggests he will find another job at that level.

Did a sound job at cash-strapped Forest.

PT rating: *

18/1 Dean Saunders

Not a chance. Poor managerial record.

PT rating: *

20/1 Mark Robins

Doesn’t fit the Posh template at all.

Not that the template has led to much success recently.
