Reigning champions Netherton United will know how likely a repeat Peterborough Premier Division title win is over the next two Saturdays.

The city side have made an edgy start to their title defence and sit fifth ahead of away games at top two Thorney (September 29) and Moulton Harrox (October 6)

But Netherton manager Jon Harrison is confident of success.

Harrison said: “Everyone is fit, back from their holidays and raring to go in two huge games. We should be stronger than we have been all season for the next two matches and we will need to be.

“We’ve looked at Thorney and we know how we’re going to get at them get at them and we will have to be ready for the battle you always get when you take on Moulton. If you manage that it’s half the job done.

“Moulton are the ultimate challenge in our league and I have full respect for what they do every year.”

Netherton warmed up for the big games with a routine 3-0 win at home to Tydd in the first round of the Peterborough Senior Cup last weekend when new recruit from Raunds Town Antonio Dello Russo was among the scorers.

Moulton are at Leverington tomorrow when Peterborough Sports Development host Holbeach United Reserves in battle between the teams in fourth and third.
