Holders ICA Sports made surprisingly smooth progress in the PFA Senior Cup at the expense of fellow Peterborough Premier Division high-fliers Stilton on Saturday (January 3).

Goals from Josh Smith (2), Dean Pruden-Carr, Andy Cook and Ben Moore saw ICA through by a 5-1 margin against a Stilton team sitting fourth in the top-flight table. Jason Dunn replied for the villagers.

Competition favourites Netherton and Coates are also through to the second round after contrasting wins. Netherton thumped Langtoft 5-2 as Connor Goddon (2), Fraser Sturgess, Adam Scott and Tom Randall all found the target. The visitors to the Grange scored twice in the final five minutes through Dan Evans (penalty) and Ben Porter.

Coates won 2-1 at Moulton Harrox with Danny Dance and Simon Flanz scoring the goals.

Former Posh youth team player Matthew Sparrow and Sam Thompson scored two apiece as Deeping Rangers Reservess won 4-3 at Thorney, while Ollie Maltby struck twice as Pinchbeck beat Leverington 4-1.

In the all Division One clash Wisbech Town Reserves beat Ketton 2-1 in a game that was switched to the Fenland Stadium because of ground issues in Ketton. Andre Da Silva scored one of the Wisbech goals, but was later sent off.

Oakham missed out on the chance to overtake Coates at the top of the Premier Division as their scheduled fixture at Sawtry was postponed.

City side Riverside cracked a poor run of form by winning 3-1 at Uppingham and Peterborough Sports Reserves saw off lowly Holbeach United Reserves 4-2.

Corey Kingston scored a hat-trick for Sports, while Antonio Dello Russo, Jezz Goldson-Williams and Joshua Kamau scored for Riverside.
