The Fenmen won their third round tie at Racing Club Warwick today (December 2) 2-0 thanks to second-half goals from Alex Beck and Sam Murphy (penalty).

But Yaxley and Deeping Rangers won’t be joining them in Monday’s (December 4) draw after disappointing defeats at home to Norwich CBS and away to Hinckley Town respectively.

Yaxley suffered a nightmare first half at home to lower level Norwich CBS conceding three goals. The Cuckoos fought back well, but goals from Ross Watson and Tom Waumsley couldn’t save a first defeat under manager Andrew Furnell.

Deeping striker Scott Coupland equalised an early Hinckley goal before the break, but the home side scored twice in the second half to ease through.

Holbeach United took full advantage of other UCL Premier Division title contenders’ involvement in the Vase to move up to second place with an emphatic 6-0 win at Wellingborough Whitworth.

Will Bird bagged a second-half hat-trick with George Zuerner, Charlie Sanders and Lewis Leckie also on target. There was a big shock towards the top as Leicester Nirvana were hammered 5-1 by lowly Sleaford.

Peterborough Northern Star were held to a 3-3 home draw by bottom club Oadby, a team with just one win to their name this season. James Hill-Seekings (2) and Zak Munton scored for Star.

Pinchbeck United are six points clear at the top of Division One after goals from Tony Edwards and Ash Murrell secured s 2-0 win at Melton. The latter’s goal was a long range screamer.

Co-manager Lee Clarke scored twice in Blackstones’ 5-3 win at Bugbrooke St Michael, but Bourne were pipped 2-1 at Huntingdon, Robert Nelson’s goal arrived too late to make a difference.

Stones are up to sixth, while Bourne are 10th.
