It was a first game in charge for new Sports manager Leighton Atkins, but he saw his side concede an 89th-minute equaliser before Polonia won a penalty shoot out 4-2.

Rafal Komisarczyk scored the Polonia goal as the game finished 1-1 in 90 minutes.

Netherton United travelled with no specialist strikers to Warboys for their tie, but they emerged from a tough encounter with a 4-2 win under their belts in front of a boisterous home crowd.

Dan Fountain scored twice with Erik Makate and Tom Randall also on target.

Holders ICA Sports eased through with a 4-1 success over top flight rivals Sawtry. Vaides Macianskis, Cardin Pierre-Liverpool. Scott Spearing and Dan Stephens scored for the city side.

Holbeach United Reserves came from behind to beat Ketton 2-1 with a late strike from Gary Chappell. Joe Millson had earlier equalised Matt Woodman’s goal for a depleted Ketton side.

“Gutted but proud of my team,” Ketton manager Kai Brownhill said. “Injuries and illness left us with 11 players, round pegs in square holes and yet it took a deflected 89th minute goal to beat us. The pride shown was humbling to watch.”

Premier Division leaders Moulton Harrox made progress in the Lincs Junior Cup with a 2-0 win over Ruston Sports. First-half goals from Daniel Lambe-Hyner and Bobby Patterson clinched the win.

Stamford Lions took full advantage of title rivals playing in cups by moving into third place in the top flight with a 10-0 rout of bottom club Langtoft United. Tom Edwards bagged a hat-trick.

Sutton Bridge United are up to fifth after a 3-0 win over Leverington Sports and Thorney are seventh after a 1-0 win over Deeping Rangers Reserves.
