Cardea, Crowland Town and Stilton United all won, while Eye United earned a creditable home draw with Uppingham Town.

Thomas Klinkovics scored twice and Kieran Hart also netted in Cardea’s 3-1 home win over Leverington Sports, while Martin Sandall, Chris Winstanley and Jake Woodward were the men on the mark for Crowland in a 3-0 win over Oakham at Snowden’s Field.

Title favourites Netherton United eased to a 4-0 win at Ketton as debutants Ryan Pratt, Alfie Ferguson and Charlie Willis all scored.

Pratt and Ferguson moved across the city from Peterborough North End Sports in the summer, while Willis (16) is a Netherton youth team player. Skipper Fraser Sturgess also netted for Netherton.

“It was a solid win and Charlie scored with a great header,” Netherton boss Jon Harrison said.

“It’s an aim of the club to bring youth players through this season. There is a lot of young talent at the club.

“It was actually just nice to get back into a dressing room again as well!”

North End Sports, now under the management of former Thorney boss Tom Florence, were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw at Holbeach Reserves despite Matthew Oliver firing them in front.

ICA Sports were also held to a draw, but they were happy with their point from a goalless encounter with Parson Drove at Ringwood in Jimmy Brattan’s first game as manager.
