Captain Jack Payne, player-of-the-year Joe Newell and £500k striker Luke James are the shock names on the list of transfer-listed Peterborough United players released bvy the club today (May 8).
The trio are joined by striker Kyle Vassell, central defenders Christian Burgess and Shaun Brisley and midfielder Kane Ferdinand as players who can leave Posh in the summer.
Out-of-contract players Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, Bobby Olejnik and David Norris have already been released by Posh.
Striker Aaron Mclean has returned to Bradford City at the end of his loan spell. He finished the season as player-coach.
