For the second season in a row Peterborough United will open their League One campaign at Rochdale (Saturday, August 8).

Posh won 1-0 at Spotland last season thanks to a Kyle Vassell goal midway through the second-half.

Posh also won the return game 2-1 at the ABAX Stadium, but Dale finished a place above Dave Robertson’s side in eighth after both teams picked up 63 points

Posh host Colchester in their first League One home match of the season on Saturday, August 15. That is quickly followed by a midweek home match with title favourites Sheffield United (August 18).

Posh will be disappointed to be hosting ‘The Blades’ on a Tuesday night for the third season in a row. A Saturday fixture would likely attract the biggest away following of the season.

A trip to newly-promoted Burton Albion and a home game with Gillingham close out the first month of fixtures.

Posh have beed handed the rare, for them, bonus of a home game on Boxing Day. Chesterfield will be the visitors to the ABAX Stadium. The teams met in Chesterfield on Boxing Day last season when the home side won 3-2.

Posh travel to Walsall on Monday, December 28 and complete their festive programme with a trip to Bramall Lane to face Sheffield United on January 2.

Easter involves a home game with Coventry City and the longest trip of the campaign to Fleetwood on Easter Monday.

Posh have just two away scheduled games on Tuesday evenings at Bury on March 1 and Barnsley on April 19.

Posh are at home to Blackpool on the final day of the League One season when Blackpool will be the visitors. For the second season in a row the final day League One fixtures will take place on a Sunday with a lunch-time kick-off.
