Peterborough’s new signing Andrew Fox is delighted to have secured a contract following a successful trial at the club.
The 22-year-old has spent the last four years playing football for a University team alongside getting a degree in Austin, Texas before signing a contract with the Posh on Saturday.
The youngster travelled with the squad to Ireland last week before signing a contract on Saturday (July 18) and admits that he can’t wait to get started.
Fox said: ”I managed to secure an inital week-long trial with the Posh through a contact at the club which went well and It is a relief to have the trial over with.”
“Going on the tour really helped because it enabled me to get to know the players in the team and having other trialists there made it easier to slot in.”
Originally from Swavesey, Cambridgeshire, Fox travelled to America when he was 18 after securing a scholarship at St Edwards University.
Fox has appeared in all four of Posh’s preseason friendlies, predominatly at an unfamiliar left-back position.
He said: “I have enjoyed playing at left back but it is new to me becasue I am used to playing higher up the pitch.”
“I am now looking forward to trying to break into the first team and hopefully good things can come from this season.”
