The organisers of the ‘Chris Turner statue fund’ were delighted with the response of fans to a bucket collection prior to Saturday’s (January 9) FA Cup win over Preston at the ABAX Stadium.
Over £2,000 was raised with visiting supporters also making contributions.
Organiser Aidan Mowles said: “We are incredibly proud and delighted that the bucket collection for the Chris Turner Statue Fund on Saturday prior to that glorious victory over Preston North End raised a grand total of
“Thank you for your amazing support, (not that we doubted it) and the generous contributions from the Preston North End fans too. Thanks also to the fantastic volunteers who made it happen.

Turner, a former player, captain, manager, chairman and owner of Posh, died earlier this year.
