Peterborough United have today (November 15) released teenager striker Shaq McDonald.

McDonald, who signed a four-year professional contract at London Road back in April, has left by ‘mutual consent’.

The 18 year-old was hailed as a ‘prolific striker with a big future’ by chairman Darragh MacAnthony when putting pen to paper on that deal.

McDonald (18) is currently on loan at non-league club Histon. He is now expected to join the Skrill North club permanently.

Earlier this season McDonald saw a loan spell at Skrill Premier Division club Chester City ended after he was sent off in his debut for the club.

McDonald joined Posh in late 2012 from non-league side Chasetown and was prolific for the club’s youth and development sides.

McDonald becomes the second Posh youngster to depart in the space of week. Jevani Brown also left by mutual consent.
