Peterborough United centre-back Shaun Brisley has today (September 11) joined local rival Northampton Town on loan for a month.
The 25 year-old has been on the transfer list at the ABAX Stadium since the end of last season. He joined Posh from Macclesfield in January 2012 and has since made 95 appearances, his last in the 4-1 home defeat at the hands of Charlton in the Capital One Cup last month.
Brisley, who scored for Posh in their Johnstone’s Paint Trophy win over Chesterfield at Wembley in March 2014, spent an unsuccessful loan spell at Scunthorpe last season.
Posh director of football Barry Fry revealed that several Football League clubs had tried to sign Brisley in the summer, but the player is apparently holding out for a move to the north of England.
Brisley trained with the struggling League Two club this morning and could make his debut against Oxford tomorrow (September 12).
