New Peterborough United manager Graham Westley has sent a letter to season ticket holders outlining his plans for exciting attacking football.
Westley, who was appointed on Monday (September 21), has given his players a target of over 600 passes and over 25 shots in every game.
Posh play their first game under Westley at Bradford City on Saturday (September 26).
‘I would like to take this opportunity to say hello to you and introduce myself to you.
‘Your love of Peterborough United will undoubtedly be the reason that you have committed yourself to investing in a season ticket.
“As your new manager, I want you to know how seriously I take my responsibility to give you what you have paid for. Football fans want entertaining play, goals and victories, but especially so here at Peterborough United where our ambitious chairman sets only the very highest of standards.
‘Our players will be coached, trained, organised and led to produce an outstanding attacking brand of play.
‘My assistant Grant McCann led the team to produce over 500 passes per game in his short caretaker spell. We will be seeking to raise our minimum standard to beyond 600 passes per game, leading to 25+ attempts at goal.
‘It is my job to help our team to deliver the excitement and success that you all desire and I urge you all to work really closely with me to create an inspiring environment for our players in which they produce their very best.
‘Please enjoy the season ahead.’
Yours in football ...
