Left-back Kgosi Ntlhe has been told he can leave Peterborough United.
The 21 yera-old South African international is out of contract at the end of the current campaign and has turned down the offer of a new deal.
Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony revealed the news during an interview broadcast today (January 26) by the club’s PUTV station.
MacAnthony said: “Kgosi is out of contract at the end of the season. We have made him multiple offers which he has turned down.
“I’m surprised he has turned the chance of job security down as he has been injury prone in recent seasons.
“But he has made his decision and he can leave if he can find himself a club. He came through our Academy so we are entitled to compensation.”
MacAnthony also revealed that the club have taken up the option of an extra year on midfielder Erhun Oztumer’s contract. The club and player will sit down to thrash out a longer contract in the summer.
Ntlhe made his Posh debut in April 2012. He has made 86 appearances for Posh and scored five goals.
Ntlhe has made just five appearances this season, He hasn’t started a game since August when he damaged a toe during a home defeat to Sheffield United.
