Peterborough United are only going to get better under the management of new manager Graham Westley.
That’s the opinion of Jon Taylor, the man-of-the-match from Saturday’s (October 3) spectacular 5-3 League One win against Millwall at the ABAX Stadium. Taylor scored twice after assisting on Lee Angol’s opening goal.
It’s two wins out of three for Posh under Westley. They are 12th in League One heading to out-of-form Swindon this Saturday (October 10).
Taylor said: “The manager wants us to attack and entertain. That’s what we worked on leading up to the Millwall game and it paid off.
“It was great to be a part of it and now I need to stay in the team because we are only going to get better. We have so much quality in the side.
“It was great for me to score two of the goals, but it was a strong team effort.
“I wanted to reach double figures in goals last season, but I did’t play enough matches and I played with a sore knee pretty much all season. I feel great now and I’m certainly after 10 goals this season. I’ll have a great chance if we keep on playing like we did against Millwall.
“I came in on the Wednesday before the Millwall game even though the players had the day off and did some one-on-one work with (assistant manager) Grant McCann. That was all about turning with the ball and shooting and it certainly helped me make the impact I was looking for.
“We can’t wait for the next game at Swindon now. We will be going down their to win.”
