Local rivals Peterborough United and Cambridge United meet in the Chris Turner Memorial Match at the ABAX Stadium on Saturday (August 1) and Mick George Limited, the sponsor of both clubs, are offering two Executive Box tickets as a competition prize.
Turner played for and managed both clubs during his career. All proceeds from the match are going to the Glenfield Care Centre, the family’s charity of choice, who looked after Turner for many years until his passing earlier this year.
A number of activities are scheduled for match day, including a minute’s applause in celebration of Chris’s life, a special edition programme containing acknowledgements from former team mates, players and friends as well as a commemorative embodied shirt.
Mick George Ltd will be supporting the day with an appearance from mascot ‘Mick the Skip’ for younger fans, as well as their half-time ‘chip in the skip’ challenge where a fan from both sides will compete for the cash prize.
Mick George are also supporting the charity through sponsorship of the match.
Jon Stump, Finance Director of Mick George said: ’It will undoubtedly be a day of mixed emotions, Chris is well known in these parts to football people of many generations for the roles he played at both clubs. As a player and a manager he
served both clubs with distinction. It’s an honour and a privilege as shirt sponsor to both clubs to be able to pay recognition to a man who played a part in both their histories.”
The day is guaranteed to be a memorable one with tickets in high demand, but Mick George Ltd are giving away two pairs of tickets in their Executive Box. All you have to do to enter the
competition is email the correct answer to the below question to firstname.lastname@example.org by 5pm on Wednesday 29th July 2015.
Two lucky entrants will picked at random to receive the tickets on Thursday 30th July 2015.
