Posh won 2-0 thanks to two more goals from top scorer Matt Godden, but a second clean sheet of the season was equally significant.

A shout-out in particular to left-back Colin Daniel who defended stoutly and created the first Posh goal.

Aaron Chapman: Decent effort despite some jittery moments from the big man in difficult conditions, although perhaps fortunate not to concede a first-half penalty 6.5

Jason Naismith: Rock solid in defence and ventured forward now and again to cause problems 7

Colin Daniel: Terrific display from a left-back who had come under fire in recent games. Set up the first goal with a fine cross 8.5

Rhys Bennett: Won his headers and cleared his lines. Occasionally drifted out of position, but generally played very solidly 8

Ryan Tafazolli: Just the occasional glimpse of an error on his 100th Posh appearance, but considering the swirling wind, he was excellent under the high ball 8

Alex Woodyard: He thrives in games like this. Scraps for everything, usually comes away with the ball 8

Mark O’Hara: His battling qualities were useful in such a scruffy game. Did an excellent job alongside his skipper 7

Joe Ward: Worked hard up and down the right flank. Spurned a couple of decent opportunities, but has been turned into a key performer this season 6.5

Siriki Dembele: Useaful at running with the ball and thus relieving pressure. His quality wasn’t great, but a good shift nonetheless 6

Matt Godden: Quiet first-half, but he comes alive in the box. Assisted by Daniel for first goal and by Scunthorpe ‘keeper for the second one 7.5

Jason Cummings: Worked hard, but found it hard to get in the game. He’s very one-footed which doesn’t help him 5

Substitutes:

Ivan Toney: (for Cummings, 64 mins) Made a huge difference with his ability to hold the ball up and bring others into the game 7

George Cooper: (for Dembele, 82 mins).

Jamie Walker: (for Godden, 90 + 7 mins).

Callum Cooke: (not used).
