Speaking before setting off for Plymouth today (August 24), Raynor said: “The spirit in the dressing room is fantastic. After the 1-0 win at Charlton even those players who didn’t get shirted were hugging one another.

“We fostered that togetherness in Portugal pre-season and it’s shnining through now.”

Raynor was not only delighted that Posh made it four wins out of four at The Valley, but to achieve it without conceding a goal gave him great satisfaction.

He added: “We put in three excellent performances to win our first three games - the only disappointment was that we conceded a goal in each of them.

“We know we’ll always create chances in forward areas. We have to work on stopping the goals going in at the other end. So I wad delighted we kept a clean sheet and I was delighted for Aaron (Chapman) and the back four.”

Raynor says he’s expecting a tough game tomorrow.

“Plymouth are very good technically and they are well organised with good quality in the forward areas. We know we are in for a very tough game but we’re relishing the challenge.”
