Goalkeeper Josh Tibbetts has left Peterborough United by mutual consent.
The 20 year-old joined Posh from Birmingham City in the summer of 2017, but was loaned about To Royston Town for most of last season.
Tibbetts has been on loan at National League side Solihull Moors this season, but has yet to start a game.
Tibbetts announced on social media last night (October 16) he was leaving the ABAX Stadium to ‘further his career’.
Posh boss Steve Evans wished him well this morning, but has no plans to replace him.
Back-up first-team goalkeeper Conor O’Malley is almost back to full fitness, while 41-year-old goalkeeper coach Mark Tyler has been sat on the substitutes’ bench all season to fulfill a Football League requirement for one homegrown player in a matchday squad.
“I’d have no problem throwing Mark into a game as a substitute,” Evans said. “He still looks very sharp and fit in training.”
Posh played a full practice match between themselves yesterday. Marcus Maddison and Tyler Denton were involved after recovering from illness and injury respectively. However. centre-back Josh Yorwerth remains on the sidelines and is likley to be unavilable for the League One home games against Accrington (October 20) and Fleetwood (October 23).
