Peterborough United are the most popular pick for promotion among punters following their great start to the 2018-2019 League One season.
They’ve attracted a whopping 46% of all bets following their 5-1 thumping of Plymouth at the weekend, with almost half of all punters backing Posh to be promoted.
That’s resulted in bookies slashing odds on them doing so, from 5/1 before the start of the season, into just 9/4 to be playing their football in the Championship next year.
Sunderland are still odds-on favourites to be promoted at 8/15, with Barnsley the only other team more likely than Posh to go up, with the Tykes 11/10 to go up.
Elsewhere, red-hot striker Jason Cummings is the clear favourite to finish the season as League One top goalscorer, after scoring a brace at the weekend.
He’s been cut from 20/1 rank outsider into 3/1 undisputed favourite to win the individual accolade. Barnsley hitman Kieffer Moore is second favourite at 10/1.
Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek said: “Despite their rip-roaring start to the season, Peterborough have surprisingly faced the most shots of any EFL club so far with 89.
“They also don’t feature in the top 12 for shots taken, so the deadly finishing of their strike-force looks key to the early season form.”
