Peterborough United have today (June 14) completed the transfer of striker Joe Gormley from Irish Premiership side Cliftonville.
As predicted by the Peterborough Telegraph yesterday (June 13) Gormley has become the second Posh signing of the summer after midfielder Jack Collison.
Gormley has signed a three-year contract after the clubs agreed an undisclosed fee. Posh are now just awaiting international clearance for the new man.
Gormley scored five hat-tricks for Cliftonville last season on his way to a club record 40 goals. He has won two Irish Premiership titles with Cliftonville,
He once scored 70 goals in a season for Irish amateur side Crumlin Star. He went on to score 111 goals in 170 appearances for Cliftonville.
Posh boss Dave Robertson said: “I am thrilled at securing this deal. Joe’s goals-to-game ratio has ensured we kept an eye on him.”
Gormley added: “It’s a dream of mine to play in the Football League. I can’t wait to get started.”
