Peterborough United have today (November 28) recalled midfielder Kane Ferdinand from his loan spell at local rivals Northampton Town - and he could go straight into the squad to face Wolves at London Road on Saturday (November 30).
The 21 year-old played five times for Northampton and finished on the winning side twice - a terrific run of form by the standards of a team stuck at the bottom of the entire Football League.
Cobblers boss Aidy Boothroyd said: “It’s understandable that he’s gone back because he’s done very well for us. That’s the risk you take when you take players on loan.”
Ferdinand has been recalled to cover for a set of untimely injuries at London Road. Midfielders Danny Kearns, Joe Newell and Tommy Rowe have all missed games in November and there are fears that skipper Row faces an operation on his knee which will mean a lengthy absence.
Posh boss Darren Ferguson was hoping to bring ‘one or two’ new players to the club today ahead of the 5pm deadline for loan deals. Posh have lost five League One matches on the bounce ahead of a visit from leaders and title favourites Wolves.
