Peterborough United will face manager Graham Westley’s former club Preston North End in the third round of the FA Cup at the ABAX Stadium.

Westley had an unhappy 13 month spell in charge at Deepdale when Preston were a League One club between January 2012 and February 2013. He’s since restored his reputation in some style at Posh.

Preston are currently 18th in the Championship. In 18 Championship fixtures they have scored just 15 goals and conceded just 19.

Posh and Preston have never met before in the FA Cup.

The tie will take most likely take place on Saturday, January 9. The scheduled League One fixture at home to Burton that day will be moved.

Westley missed the draw as he was watching Saturday’s League One opponents Shrewsbury Town in their FA Cup tie in Grimsby.

*West ham have confirmed they declined to give permission for on-loan midfielder Martin Samuelsen to play for Posh in the second round FA Cup win over Luton.
