Jason Naismith: Battled away gamely for the most part, but he had no answer to the slick movement and passing of top-class opposition 5

Colin Daniel: Life has become a struggle for a whole-hearted left-back. Sacrificed early in the second-half for a change in shape 5

Rhys Bennett: Defended doggedly, but another to find the mobility of the opposition too hard to handle 5

Ryan Tafazolli: He won a few challenges which is more than most of his teammates managed 5.5

Alex Woodyard: Swamped by superior footballers. His usual tenacity was absent 5

Mark O’Hara: Dithered in his own area for the first Barnsley goal and looked cumbersome and heavy legged throughout 5

Marcus Maddison: Delivered a couple of testing free kicks in the first half, but conceded the free kick which gave Barnsley their second goal. Passed a late fitness test to play, but went off injured eventually 5

Joe Ward: Worked as hard as ever but often run off his feet and rarely found a teammate with a pass 5

Ivan Toney: Terrible day at the office although he kept battling to the end. Took a tame early penalty which could have given Posh the lead 5

Jamie Walker: Played in a position which should have suited him, but he laboured, hardly saw the ball and was taken off after just 25 minutes 4

Substitutes
