Peterborough United are expected to reveal their retained list of players for the 2015-16 season within the next 48 hours.
It’s understood manager Dave Robertson will hold individual meetings with his squad tomorrow (May 7). Robertson has spent much of the last two days discussing his own long-term future with chairman Darragh MacAnthony.
No final decision on Roberston landing a job he has performed for the last three months on a full-time basis has been made, but he is continuing to act as first-team boss.
It’s thought unlikely that any of the players out of contract in June will be offered new deals.
Goalkeeper Bobby Olejnik heads a short list that also includes midfielder David Norris and winger Nathaniel Mendez-Laing.
Norris signed a short-term contract just before Ferguson departed. He missed the final game of the League One season at Oldham because of injury.
Posh could transfer list players still under contract, with striker Kyle Vassell, central defender Shaun Brisley and midfielder Kane Ferdinand most under threat. Vassell finished the season on loan at League Two side Oxford.
The years when current Posh players’ contracts are believed to expire are:
2015: Bobby Olejnik, Nathanial Mendez-Laing, David Norris,
2016: Shaun Brisley, Kane Ferdinand, Joe Newell, Erhun Oztumer, Kyle Vassell, Gaby Zakuani.
2017: Ben Alnwick, Jonny Edwards, Jack Payne, Ricardo Santos, Michael Smith, Jon Taylor, Conor Washington.
2018: Jack Baldwin, Harry Beautyman, Michael Bostwick, Christian Burgess, Leonardo Da Silva Lopes, Harry Anderson, Dion-Curtis Henry, Luke James, Marcus Maddison.
2019: Jermaine Anderson.
