POSH REACTION: Rookie impresses as Peterborough United claim an important point
Moore was playing just his third Football League match fro a side who had lost their previous five League One matches.
But many of the players were much improved compared to recent displays. The Posh four played with great bravery and little organisation, while the midfielders passed the ball better than of late.

Hide AdMarcus Maddison has now scored the last three Posh goals and today’s was special.
Stuart Moore: Excellent handling of long-range shots and a stunning late save to preserve the point. Flapped at a couple of set-pieces, but a fine display from one so inexperienced 8
Jack Baldwin: Did well against the dangerous Wildschutt for opening 20 minutes, but struggled once cautioned for fouling him. Superb at centre-back and delivered ssome great goal-saving blocks 7
Gaby Zakuani: Strong return to form from the ironman. injured at the end of the first-half when making a brave tackle. Hobbled on for another 20 minutes. Good effort 7

Hide AdMichael Bostwick: Just the one minor blip that helped Wigan take the lead as he became involved in a passing move in a dangerous area that was punished. Very powerful, very committed and won all the important challenges. Gillett’s arrival should mean he can stay in the back four which is where he belongs 8
Michael Smith: Played well at left-back, almost opened the scoring in the first 15 minutes with decent volley. Gave his all against the rapid Wildschutt - not always successfully - in the closing stages 7
Erhun Oztumer: Played well in the first-half when Posh enjoyed good spells of possession. Looked bright and busy. Faded after picking up a knock towards the end of the first half 6
Simon Gillett: A very good start to his Posh career. Clearly understands the role at the base of the midfield diamond. Won his tackles, passed the ball neatly on the whole 7

Hide AdHarry Beautyman: Rarely puts in a bad shift. Works hard for the team and played the pass that might have seen Maddison fire Posh in front soon after the re-start 6
Marcus Maddison: He can infuriate with his attitude when he feels he is being fouled, but what a talent. His free kick was spacial and he’s been by far and away the biggest attacking threat in the last few weeks 7
Jon Taylor: Ran hard all game. Very lively display. Impressive attitude as she was seen to good effect at both ends of the pitch, although had a hand in Wigan goal after losing possession tight by the touchline 6
Shaquile Coulthirst: He did well as the lone striker in terms of effort and pace. Needs to improve his touch and his awareness, but he’s young enough to do it 6
