The 21 year-old made his Posh debut - and his Football League debut - in Saturday’s (February 27) 2-1 home defeat by Swindon. It was a fourth straight League One defeat for Posh who have now plummeted into the bottom half of the table.

Posh will drop a further place if they lose at Bury tomorrow (March 1).

Moore, who has signed for Posh on a month’s loan from Championship side Reading, is certain to start that game at Gigg Lane as regular number one Ben Alnwick nurses an ankle injury. He’s pleased that he will have the opportunity to get to know his team-mates better before kick off.

“I was thrown in at the deep end on Saturday,” Moore said. “I got the call at 8pm on the Friday night and came straight up to Peterborough. The lads couldn’t have been any more welcoming, but it takes time to get used to each other.

“But that’s the Football League for you. You have to be ready and prepared for anything and all things considered I was happy with how my debut went, apart from the result obviously.

“I was nervous beforehand, but I calmed those nerves by listening to music before really focussing on the match for the two hours before kick off.

“I couldn’t do a lot about either goal we conceded. The first goal was an unbelievable free kick and the second one came through traffic so I didn’t see it until late. You can’t do a lot about those except watch the ball trickle into the corner.

“We had dominated the first-half, but Swindon changed formation in the second half and caused us a few problems. We definitely deserved something from the game though, but we will pick ourselves up and go again at Bury.

“I’d love to help the team up the table. I’m here for a month at the moment so I’ll just take things game by game and see how things develop. If I stay for longer then great.

“I had a full season at Basinsgtoke last season. I played 50-odd games for them which was important in my development.”

Moore was the 38th player to make a Football League appearance for Posh this season, the most in League One. Promotion-chasing Walsall have fielded the fewest players, just 21.
