POSH PREVIEW: Big hitters back for Peterborough United

Posh manager Graham Westley would not name names, although centre-back Michael Bostwick is expected to return after missing the last two matches because of suspension.

Central defender Jack Baldwin, left-back Kgosi Nthle, striker Lee Angol, attacking midfielder Jon Taylor, goalkeeper Ben Alnwick and midfield playmaker Chris Forrester all missed Saturday’s (February 27) 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Swindon. Striker Joe Gormley and midfielder Jermaine Anderson are long-term injury victims.

Bury are also beset by injury problems. Their skipper and centre-back Nathan Cameron was ruled out for the season over the weekend.

Westley said: “We have some big hitters back in town tomorrow and we have shown what a good side we can be when we have our top players in the side. I’m talking about the players who have won promotions, players who are proven winners at League One level and players with the experience to help our gifted young players.

“Michael Bostwick is a good example of that. How can it fail to boost a side when you get a player of his experience, character and ability back in your team?

“We’ve been beset by injuries which has contributed to our recent difficult period, but we will now remember how good we were earlier in the season when we had the majority of our experienced players in the side.

“We have the right mindset to win at Bury. Away games are never easy, especially against a decent side like Bury, but we believe we can get back to winning ways up there.

“Bury have had a tough time with injuries recently. I can symapthise with (manager) David Flitcroft because there’s only Wigan in this division, a team with the resources to put out two strong first XIs of League One standard, who could cope with the setbacks us and Bury have had.

“Bury have now lost Nathan Cameron who is a huge player for them, but they will still field a competitive team that will be very hard to beat.”
