The 22 year-old started just his seventh League One match for Posh in last Saturday’s (March 25) 1-0 win at Gillingham following his summer move from Crystal Palace.

Binnom-Williams believes he delivered his strongest 45 minutes in a Posh shirt in the second-half and he’s now confident he can repeat that form in the remaining matches of the season.

A player who played a part in Burton Albion’s unexpected promotion from League One last season insists Posh have the ability to return to the Championship, but not necessarily this season.

“There is no doubt we are good enough to go up,” Binnom-Williams stated. “We have left ourselves with a lot to do this season. We will try our hardest for the last few matches, but we will certainly come good next season. I’m 100 per cent sure of that.

“It’s been tough for me as I’ve been in and out all season. When that happens you are often scared of making a mistake that will cost the team.

“I’ve tried hard to impress this season. I’ve been in my shell a bit, but I want to show everyone what I can do and hopefully that will happen for the rest of the season.

“I was nervous in the first-half at Gillingham, but the manager gave us all the confidence to go out and play well in the second half and i thought I did well.

“I like to to use my strength and my pace when I get one-on-one with opponents and I did that towards the end. It was probably my best performance for the club and now I want to start the game against Charlton on Saturday (April 1) like I finished at Gillingham.

“The full-backs have to play high up the field in our system which should suit me.”
