It had been reported Posh had sold the youngster for £150k last month, but Posh co-owner Darragh MacAnthony revealed on his popular ‘Hard Truth’ podcast that the youngster is still with the club’s Academy.

MacAnthony said: ““Four clubs have offered £100k for the goalkeeper which is the most we are allowed to receive. That’s great for the Academy who would benefit from the sale, but we should be able to expect more.”

Neither the goalkeeper nor the clubs involved have been named.

The Posh Academy has gained a reputation for developing highly-prized young players.

Posh turned down a seven-figure bid for striker Ricky-Jade Jones while he was just 16.

Jones is now a regular member of the Posh first-team squad after signing his first professional contract on his 17th birthday.

Flynn Clarke and Harrison Burrows are other Academy graduates pushing hard for a Posh first-team place.
