When Peterborough United are at their best in League One matches, and when they are at their most vulnerable

Peterborough United manager Darren Ferguson bemoaned the fact his side concede too many goals in the opening stages of the second-half after Lincoln City equalised in the 49th minute last weekend to secure a 1-1 League One draw at Sincil Bank.

That was the fifth time this season Posh have conceded between the 46th and 60th minute in League One matches. No other 15-minute section of a game has been so costly.

Posh have conceded four times between the 31st and 45th minute and between the 76th and 90th minute of games, but they have also scored six and seven goals respectively in those time periods. Ferguson’s side have only scored twice in the opening 15 minutes of the second half.

Posh haven’t scored a single goal between the 51st and 60th minute of a League One match this season.

Posh have scored 14 and conceded just nine in the first half of games and scored 16 and conceded 11 in the second half.

Worryingly Saturday’s opponents, MK Dons have a 6-1 record for goals scored and conceded in the 15 minutes straight after half-time, but they have been notoriously slow starters having scored just twice and conceded seven times in the opening 15 minutes of a match.

Posh League One record.
