Peterborough United were so bad at Blackpool in a 1995 Division Three game, assistant manager Mick Halsall refused to travel back on the team bus for fear of what he might do/say!

Posh, under the managament of John Still, lost the match 4-0 and Halsall travelled home in the ET car. Two years later Posh were thumped 5-1 at Bloomfield Road.

Posh have won just six and lost nine of their 20 Football League games at Blackpool. They did win 1-0 in League One courtesy of a splendid Marcus Maddison finish in April, 2019.

Posh will hope to avoid last season’s roller coaster of a League One game though as Blackpool secured a thrilling 4-3 win.

Posh scored early through Mo Eisa, but conceded two own goals through Niall Mason and Dan Butler and a penalty leaving Ivan Toney’s strike and a penalty from Maddison meaningless.

Blackpool have undergone major squad surgery since last season’s win, but results havent gone as planned this season with Pool sitting in 15th place heading into Saturday’s game.

The Seasiders haven’t lost at home since October when Charlton beat them 1-0.

Top scorer Jerry Yates claimed one of his eight goals in a thoroughly deserved 2-1 win at Posh in November.

Gary Madine grabbed a late winner as Pool became the only League One team to win a game at London Road in 2020.

Madine could be back from injury to face Posh. Speedy winger CJ Hamilton has been absent with a hamstring injury for the last six weeks.
