PLAYER RATINGS: Peterborough United’s players proved they are happy to scrap their way to victory
Peterborough United delivered a battling rather than a flowing performance as they ground out a 1-0 League One win at Ipswich Town today (January 23).
Posh hardly created a clearcut chance in 90 minutes, but they were rock-solid defensively.
Ratings key: 10-Perfect, 9-Oustanding, 8-Very good, 7-Good, 6-Okay, 5-Poor, 4-Very Poor.
1.
CHRISTY PYM: The goalkeeper enjoyed another quiet afternoon thanks to the excellence of the Posh defence and the limitations of the home forward line. In these fanless matches you can hear what a great organsier he is. 6.5
2.
FRANKIE KENT: Another imperious defensive display, but he'll have far tougher challenges than this one. Helped Kanu contain Gwion Edwards 7.5
3.
NATHAN THOMPSON: A high-class display in the heart of the Posh defence. He's ridiculously cool under pressure 8.5
4.
MARK BEEVERS: Rock-solid on the left hand side of the back three. Barely lost a header 7.5.
