Peterborough United’s domination over their nearest neighbours Northampton Town is showing no sign of stopping.

Saturday’s 2-0 win at Sixfields was a sixth derby day win in Football League matches in a row for Posh who have scored 13 goals and conceded just one in that run.

Six matches is the second longest winning streak against a single opponent in the Football League in Posh’s history.

They beat Crewe eight times in a row between 1981 and 1984.

Posh have not lost to Cobblers at Sixfields in a league match since a 2-1 defeat in the 2001-02 Division Two season.

Posh have not lost to Cobblers at London Road since Sean St Ledger tripped over the ball and former Posh man Scott McGleish claimed the only goal of the game in the 2005-06 League Two campaign.

Overall the scoreline in Football League fixtures now reads P55 W28 D13 L14 F81 A51 in favour of Posh.

At London Road Posh have won 16 and lost just seven of 27 meetings and away from home Posh have won 12 and lost seven of 28 clashes.

Northampton have not finished above Posh in the Football League since the 2007-08 season.
