Posh have not played since the 1-1 League One draw at MK Dons on December 15 because of positive Covid tests in their own camp. Games at home to Ipswich (December 19) at Gillingham (December 26) and at home to Charlton tomorrow (December 29) were all called off because of that outbreak.

The Posh squad returned to training today, but positive tests within the Doncaster squad now mean this Saturday’s scheduled fixture is also off.

Posh are now due back in action on Saturday, January 9 at League One leaders Lincoln City, a match that will be televised live by Sky Sports (12.30pm kick off).

The postponement of the game between Fleetwood and Doncaster means none of the current top 11 in League One will be in action tomorrow meaning Posh will stay fifth for the time being.

Rochdale became the latest League One club to confirm positive Covid tests today.

The EFL remain confident they will complete the League One programme without extending the season.

Posh still have 28 League One matches to play, plus at least one game in the EFL Trophy.
