Today’s (November 21) 2-1 home reverse at the hands of Blackpool was accompanied by a knee injury for winger Joe Ward who limped out of the action in the 53rd minute after suffering a bad knock in the first-half.

“Joe has struggled with a sore knee this season,” Posh boss Darren Ferguson said. “But when we last broke from League One games we got an injection into him and he’s looked fit and strong since.

“But he took a knock on it again today and it’s flared up so we’ll have to take a look at it on Monday and decide a course of action.”

Ward lead the League One assist charts before today’s matches. He is a major doubt for the visit of Plymouth Argyle on Tuesday when defender Nathan Thompson and forward Ricky-Jade Jones will also be absent.

Posh used four substitutes in today’s match taking advantage of a new rule which allows five, as did Blackpool.
