Peterborough United striker thrilled to claim a milestone goal and now he’s set his sights on emulating Ivan Toney
Clarke-Harris scored twice in a 3-1 home win over Swindon Town - his first was the milestone goal and the second came from the penalty spot as a strong second-half display lifted Posh up to eighth in the League One table.
The 26 year-old was signed as a replacement for Toney from Bristol Rovers in the summer. Toney scored 26 goals for Posh in a shortened campaign last season.

“I’m delighted to get off the mark and I went on to score twice so happy days! I’m chuffed to get into the record books as well.
“I wish I’d scored in previous games as I put a lot of pressure on myself, but hopefully I go on a scoring run now. I’m on penalties. It’s my job to score goals.
“I’ve had success in this league before. I try to take two players out of the game and create space and chances for others.

“It was a disappointing first-half performance, but every game this season we seem to have played better in the second half and the response against Swindon was great again.
“The standards of fitness here are a different level to Bristol Rovers. We will get rewards in the second half of games. There is so much quality in the squad here.
“We all have faith in each other. We trust whoever comes off the bench to play well. If I am subbed the player who takes my place will have my full support.”
