CALLUM COOKE: From: Middlesbrough. Apps/goals: 20/1. A midfielder who had done well in League One with Blackpool seemed to be a strong recruit, but he barely broke into the team when Evans was manager and Ferguson was quick to discard him from his Posh plans. Cooke went on loan to League Two side Bradford City last season, but didn’t pull up any trees there either. He’s another to have been released by Posh this summer. Verdict: MISS Photo: Midlands

JASON CUMMINGS: From: Nottingham Forest (loan). Apps/goals: 29/8. Started his Posh career in blistering fashion with six goals in his first six appearances, but off-field issues held him back and he added just two Checkatrade Trophy goals before he was sent back to Nottingham. Spent the second-half of the 2018-19 on the Luton Town substitutes’ bench and moved to League One rivals Shrewsbury Town last summer. Cummings is a flawed talent. Verdict: MISS Photo: Midlands

COLIN DANIEL: From: Blackpool. Apps/goals: 25/1. The word was Evans was more interested in signing right-sided Blackpool defender Kelvin Mellor rather than the left-sided Seasiders’ defender who did come to London Road on a free transfer. Daniel was a seasoned lower division pro and his performances were pretty average for the six months he lasted at the club. He was soon moved on to Burton Albion where he remains. SIRIKI DEMBELE: From: Grimsby. Apps/goals: 76/13. The tricky winger enjoyed an excellent first season at League One level with seven goals after arriving for a six-figure fee, but he fell out of favour when Ferguson started deploying a midfield diamond and no wingers. But a change of shape and the chance to play up top alongside Ivan Toney galvanised the fleet-footed forward and he was brilliant in the weeks before lockdown. Verdict: HIT Photo: Midlands
