Posh have apparently made two bids for Szmodics with the first rejected last week, but a second improved offer in excess of £1m has now been accepted.

Szmodics is reportedly at London Road ready to sign today which would be great news for the club and a fanbase fretting over the departure of Ivan Toney.

Toney’s reported £10 million move to Brentford has enabled Posh to make a considerable bid for Szmodics (24) who scored four goals in 10 appearances on loan at the Weston Homes Stadium last season.

League One rivals Portsmouth and Sunderland were also in the hunt for Szmodics.
