Posh January transfer window

Key Events

  • Posh have made 3 defensive signings
  • Departures and signings still expected in final days of window
  • RJJ and Hector already linked with a Championship move

Wigan close in on second signing

Wigan are poised to sign winger Joseph Hungbo from German club Nurnberg, according to Wigan Today. The 24-year-old Londoner came through the Crystal Palace youth set up and has spent the first-half of this season on loan at League One Rotherham United.

Second loan player leaves Wycombe

League One leaders Wycombe Wanderers have lost a second loan signing. Centre-back Caleb Taylor has returned to parent club West Bromwich Albion after midfielder Aaron Morley returned to Bolton Wanderers.

Sheffield United recalled full-back Sam Curtis from his loan spell at Posh earlier on Monday. https://www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk/sport/football/peterborough-united/peterborough-united-loan-player-has-left-the-club-4928333

Huddersfield eye up goal machine

Huddersfield Town have reportedly shown an interest in signing Stoke City striker Nathan Lowe who is currently scoring goals galore for League Two leaders Walsall.

Wrexham are reportedly interested in Plymouth striker Ryan Hardie.

League One signings

Wigan have signed defender Josh Robinson from Arsenal on a three-and-a-half-year deal.

Huddersfield Town have announced the permanent signing of Ruben Roosken from Dutch side Heracles Alemlo for an undisclosed fee.

Stockport County have signed striker Benony Breki Andresson from Icelandic club Club KR for an undisclosed fee on a three-and-a-half-year deal.

Posh bids have gone in

Posh boss Darren Ferguson revealed bids have already been made for experienced players, but he doesn’t expect anything to happen before this Saturday’s trip to Wrexham.

Randall to Bolton back on?

Interestingly Bolton Wanderers have made improved bids for two transfer targets, one of whom is an attacking midfielder.

It’s known Posh turned down a £1,5 million bid for Joel Randall from Bolton in the summer.

Bolton have recalled midfielder Aaron Morley from his loan spell at League One rivals Wycombe Wanderers.

Former Posh star Ronnie Edwards has joined Championship side QPR on loan for the rest of the season.

The 21 year-old has played just twice for Southampton since a £4 million move from Posh in the summer.

Edwards had been linked with a move to Sheffield Wednesday, also of the Championship.

Ricky-Jade Jones is out of contract at the end of the current season so could be sold to create salary cap space for new signings.

It’s understood Championship promotion chasers Sheffield United no longer have any interest in the Posh Academy graduate.

Championship strugglers Plymouth Argyle were believed to be interested, but manager Wayne Rooney has now left the Pilgrims
