Posh have been in front at half-time in their last two matches - at MK Dons before Christmas and at Lincoln City on Saturday (January 9) - before settling for 1-1 draws.

Posh are fifth ahead of the return match against MK at the Weston Homes Stadium next Saturday (January 16), five points off the automatic promotion places. Nathan Thompson will miss that match after picking up a red card at Lincoln after a conceding a penalty which the hosts missed.

Posh defender Frankie Kent said: “We started really well at Lincoln considering we hadn’t played for 25 days. The manager warned us Lincoln normally start games quickly so we wanted to get on the front foot and we did. It’s probably the most comnfortable we’ve been in a game for a while.

“But we need to be more ruthless, more clinical when we’re on top and we didn’t really do that. We took the lead, but it was frustrating we didn’t make more of the first-half.

“They came back and scored a spawny goal at the start of the second half, but we still played well, even with 10 men.

League One is so tight this season. We have come through a bad patch and we are still in touch. We need to stay consistent now. Things can turn around so quickly.

“I’m not sure what the manager will do tomorrow, but I want to play. I always want to play. Everyone will be ready if required.”
