Taylor sent a volley just wide in the early stages, but Ireland’s chances of qualifying for the finals for the first time took a severe blow.

Irelan are next in action against Iceland on November 12 and then Luxembourg on November 17 meaning Taylor is likely to miss Posh’s League One trip to Crewe on November 14.
