Taylor banged in his third goal of the season in last night’s (November 3) 2-0 win at Bristol Rovers and his second in his last two appearances.

All have been struck with ferocity and accuracy from the edge of the penalty area.

But the 22 year-old has also become a key part in a strong defensive effort alongside his midfield partner Reece Brown. The pair were outstanding together last season and have combined effectively again during a run of seven wins in eight unbeaten matches.

“We hit it off from the first game we played together,” Taylor stated. “It helps playing regularly together. It just seems to have been me and him and we do complement each other well.

“It was great to score again. I love taking the ball on the edge of the area, having a touch and shooting at goal.

“That sort of position suits me and I hope to get more goals this season.

“But me and Reece also do a lot of running in midfield. We have our defensive roles to play whether we are defending counter attacks or we’re in a low defensive block.

“We have a lot of nous in this team and a lot of experience. A couple of the Bristol palayers remarked on how difficult it was to break through us and that’s been a big part of our recent success.

“Apart from at Accrington on the opening day we have been hard to break down and long may it continue.

“We’re also sharing the goals about this season which has to be a good thing.”

Dan Butler became the 14th different Posh player to score this season at Rovers. Only 13 different players scored for Posh in all of last season.

Only goalkeeper Christy Pym and centre-backs Frankie Kent and Mark Beevers of the regular starters have failed to score in a League One match for Posh this season and there have only been 11 games.
