Peterborough United are keen to offload attacking midfielder Serhat Tasdemir...but only on a temporary basis.

The 20 year-old scored the equaliser as Posh Reserves drew 1-1 with Gillingham in a friendly today (September 28).

League Two side Oldham Athletic are the only Football League club to have enquired about Tasdemir so far, but the clubs have not reached an agreement over the player’s wages.

“We want to get games into Serhat,” Posh boss Darren Ferguson stated. “We have Ryan Broom and Sammie Szmodics in his position so his game time could be limited this season, but we want to develop him so he needs to play regularly.”

The transfer deadline for deals between English clubs is Friday, October 16. EFL clubs have to confirm their salary cap squad on that date.

A couple of National League clubs have also shown an interest in Tasdemir, who has started just one League One match for Posh since his move from Fylde in July, 2019, but there is still confusion as to when that competition will start.

Transfer-listed players George Boyd and Jason Naismith have attracted little interest so far. League Two side Walsall wanted Naismith on loan, but the player is not keen on the move.

Boyd’s wages could prove a strumbling block at a time when clubs are tightening their belts.

Posh Reserves played well today with Ferguson stating: “It was a very good performance. I enjoyed watching them play.”
