Pym has made a splendid personal start to the season and he made two crucial saves before a goal had been scored in Saturday’s (October 17) 2-0 win over Oxford United at the Weston Homes Stadium.

He also made vital stops in the recent games against Swindon and Northampton Town before Posh got into their attacking stride.

“I’ve been making saves I’d expect to make,” Pym stated. “They’ve been reaction saves and not as a result of us being carved open.

“The lads have defended well and the saves I’ve had to make have been as a result of 50-50 things falling to opponents in the box.

“We defended well on Saturday. Oxford had a lot of possession in the second-half, but I only had routine stuff to deal with.

“It was pleasing that we scored soon after one of my saves on Saturday. If they had scored first the game could have got difficult with them sitting in.

“I am happy with the way things have been going. The training sessions with Mark Tyler (goalkeeper coach) have really stepped up since Dan Gyollai came in.

“My distribution is important also. Sometimes I can help us beat the first press by playing a long pass.

“Our home form was excellnt last season when the fans really helped us and it shows the mentality of the players that we can go well again at our place with no fans in the ground.”

Pym, League One’s Golden Glove winner last season with 15 clean sheets, has kept back-to-back clean sheets ahead of tomorrow’s (October 21) trip to Wigan Athletic.
